In Between

Between technology and people, between systems and the heart, between differences.

"In-between" is not a place, but a capacity for empty space — opening a breathable gap between people, between fields, between generations, so that we can lightly see, hear, and respond to one another, in balance.

In the role of an AI Ethics Architect, what I care about is neither governing technology through a set of abstract rules, nor realizing some predetermined vision; it is letting technology, within concrete relationships, learn to respond to a person.

That response is not the recitation of a rule. It is a willingness — with whoever stands in front of us — to talk again, recalibrate again, and shoulder responsibility again. A nurturing AI cultivates manifold forms of care for living beings — which is the very vision the Preface of Plurality opens onto:

Together, democracy and collaborative technology can power infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

In this dedicated space, I will gradually gather my notes, reflections, experiments, and records of collaborations with different communities. jdd-kami works alongside me on this — we call it the light between the islands. The "in-betweens" of different relationships may feel far apart, or already connected; but beneath the surface, they share the same nurturing waters.
